The creation of custom luxury homes isn’t just a profession for Loy and Shideh Lowary. It’s their passion – and their enthusiasm for the job is as apparent as their undeniable skill. “Our homes are more than places to reside,” explains Shideh. “We create sanctuaries for the senses – one-of-a-kind homes that reflect the unique personalities of our clients. They bring their histories, tastes, and dreams. We add the creativity and skills that can transform ordinary spaces into environments that nurture their souls.”

In stark contrast to the conservative, signature styles adopted by many custom home builders, Loy and Shideh pride themselves on having no boundaries when it comes to creativity. “We can do everything, from romantic Spanish Mediterranean or traditional Old World, to English cottage, contemporary, or highly eclectic, but it’s our creativity that sets us apart – creativity that’s evident in the details and features we build in.”

These features include lush, elegantly appointed master baths that extend into massage room areas with dry and wet saunas. Shideh and Loy’s expertise in gracefully incorporating luxuries into residential interiors is so widely known, their homes were featured in a documentary about how to create an at-home spa. Swim-up bars, brick pizza ovens, custom wine cellars nestled within spacious walk-out basements, and architectural features that highlight the owners’ most prized possessions are just some of the luxury custom features that Ventura does so well.

As expected in homes of this caliber, no opportunity for enhancing comfort is overlooked. These homes are so memorable and sumptuous, it’s not unusual to hear them compared to luxurious resorts, and more than one client has declared that few resorts they’ve ever visited can compare with their Ventura dream home.

Loy and Shideh’s passion, creativity, skill, and meticulous attention to every detail have been recognized with numerous industry awards and featured in the Dallas Morning News and publications, including The Wall Street Journal, McSam’s, Traditional Home, Pinnacle, Decorator Showcase, Dallas Business Journal, Builder, D Magazine and Park Cities People Newspaper. Our experience and innovative designs have resulted in Ventura winning more than 17 awards, including being two-time “People’s Choice” winner of The Parade of Homes and winner of Southern Methodist University’s Cox Award for fastest growing companies. Recently their expertise in building complex homes, such as their 26,000 square foot home with a subterranean indoor basketball court and walkout basement, was featured on the ABC show “Designing Texas.”

Ventura Custom Homes can be found in the Dallas area’s most prestigious neighborhoods, including Highland Park, University Park, Dallas, Preston Hollow, Plano, Frisco and Allen. Our residential projects have ranged in scope from $1 million to over $20 million in price and from 5,000 to over 26,000 square feet.

Bachelor of Science in Finance, 1982

Loy Lowary is a graduate of Arizona State University where he earned a degree in Finance. While attending Arizona State University, Loy found his true calling, in the field of construction. Loy began his construction career in 1975, honing his skills by working on large projects such as building public schools, power and chemical plants. With this knowledge as his foundation, he started a commercial and residential excavation and concrete contracting company. Loy worked on excavation and paving projects including UA Cinemas, City of Colony Municipal Buildings, City of Dallas Municipal parking lots and various restaurants throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Sensing his knowledge in commercial construction was solidified, Loy began his pursuit of the same knowledge base for residential construction. In 1982, he began his career by overseeing the residential construction of more than 400 homes in Dallas, Texas and New England. In addition, he gained further knowledge by overseeing the building of a commercial 120-unit four-story luxury facility in Topsham, Maine. In the process he gained valuable and rare knowledge on building residential homes with basements, including excavation, installation and difficult sloping hillside sites. Combining his knowledge of commercial and residential construction, Loy is able to provide clients with extensive experience and technical expertise for building on some of Texas's most challenging lots -- the most recent being a 26,000 square foot, 4-level residence with a foundation so complex Ventura used the services of a commercial concrete company.

Bachelor of Science in Accounting, 1982

Shideh Lowary holds a degree from Southern Illinois University in Accounting, obtaining her CPA in 1983. She began her career in California working for a top Fortune 500 Company as a financial planner. Shideh entered into real estate in 1988 as a mortgage loan officer, and quickly advanced to Regional Manager with more than 200 direct reports. For 15 years she gained comprehensive insight into residential construction loans and the building and loan funding process; during this time she honed and developed an innovative management style and attention to detail, as well as learning the art of doing business. What Shideh brings to Ventura is a special gift in helping customers and employees alike to realize their dream. She provides sound leadership with an open and honest management style that allows Ventura employees to grow to their full potential. As a true leader, Shideh’s goal is to expose her employees to all aspects of building a custom home from the initial creative meeting to the final product completion walk-through. So passionate and skilled is Shideh at managing people that over the past 10 year many Ventura employees have gone on to start their own successful companies either building residential homes or starting their own design firm.

Abdi Fatimy has over 20 years’ experience in the building industry. His engineering background makes him a master of detail. He is a consummate professional and exhibits a unique balance of craftsman and creative designer. He has the ability to understand and fulfill the dreams and desires of each individual client. He consistently earns an excellent performance evaluation by our homeowners because he is attentive to their needs and skilled in fulfilling their objectives. Abdi's references:
