Contemporary Mediterranean

This contemporary Mediterranean residence was one of the first in Highland Park with soft, clean-lined features such as floor-to-ceiling windows, painted glass back-splash, metallic laminated cabinets and a negative edge pool, to name a few. The kitchen included the first all-white le cornufe’-LaCornue range in the United States to be installed in a home application.

The challenge of the lot allowing only 51 feet width for the residence, as required by city setbacks, encouraged a very open floorplan that lent itself to floor-to-ceiling windows and doors, and encouraged the feel of a much wider lot allowing an indoor/outdoor living environment.
